Sweets by Tash Mo was started in 2015 to create edible art. Our purpose is to turn your vision into an edible reality and create edible art through cake. When you go to a birthday party, what do you see? A birthday cake. When you attend a wedding, what do you see? A wedding cake. It’s not “just cake”, so we don’t sell “just cakes”. Its edible art. We create Buttercream & Fondant cakes, Cupcakes, and extraordinary Doughnuts.
MEET THE OWNER, TASHANA
I’m Tashana Morrison, baker, cake artist, and owner of Sweets by Tash Mo based on Long Island, NY. I currently hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from Farmingdale State College and a Certificate in Culinary Arts from Barry Tech.
Baking (and eating!) was always an important part of my life. Growing up I had 2 Easy Bake Ovens (yes, 2!). I would bake with my father and he always told me I could make a living doing what I love to do, which is bake. As I got older, I watched the food network every night and took a liking to Emeril Legasse. I call him my inspiration because he always had a fun personality, he cooked with enthusiasm, and you could feel his passion through the tv screen. He showed that this could be a fun career.
I founded Sweets by Tash Mo accidentally on purpose. In 2015, a friend of mine asked for a themed cupcake design but the order didn’t work out. However, this was perfect timing because this was something that I’ve always wanted to do. I knew there had to be a way to share my talent and monetize my passion. A few weeks later, I made and gave out samples of Cookies & Cream cupcakes. I posted a picture to my social media and my life changed in the best way possible.
